Class Description
In this four-week session, we will focus on revision strategies aimed at addressing issues of conflict and stakes in your manuscript. Each student will get to share the specific challenge they've faced with their book’s central conflict. Then, through a combination of lecture, group discussion, and feedback on a few sample pages, you will chart a revision path forward to overcome those challenges and make sure your book’s engine is working. This session will serve both novelists and memoirist, as the focus will be on broader narrative strategies and craft, and not on genre.
NOTE: this session skips Memorial Day (May 26th)

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
