Class Description

This course is designed to offer fiction writers four weeks of personalized feedback from the instructor on a specific writing project. This project can be a completely new draft of short or long fiction, or it can be one that is ready for revision. Each session will begin with a brief craft lecture while the rest of class will revolve around individual conferences between each student and the instructor. These conferences will last at least fifteen minutes and are completely dedicated to reading, discussing, and advising student progress on their project. When not conferencing, students have uninterrupted time in class to write.

Students are encouraged to work on their manuscripts between class sessions, but will also be assigned optional readings to help spark inspiration. By the end of this course, students will have a thoroughly drafted and/or revised piece of fiction for their creative portfolios. This class is best suited for fiction writers ready to generate a new piece of fiction or revise a previously drafted one.
