Class Description

Have you always dreamed of writing a novel or short story but don’t know where to begin? Do you have lots of ideas for fantastical plots, characters who beg to be written, or real-life experiences that belong in a book? This four-week creative writing class will help you turn those creative seeds into a blossoming story.

Over four Saturdays, we’ll unearth your best story ideas and then take a look at how writers develop unforgettable characters, design unique fictional worlds, and develop plots that will keep readers turning the pages. We’ll lead you through brainstorms, character interviews, quick writes, and other activities that help you discover the heart of your own story. Each week, you’ll have time to share pages or ideas and get feedback from the group. By the end of four weeks, you’ll have initial pages (or chapters) written and the building blocks you need to continue writing on your own.
