Class Description:
Get writing in this weeklong teen class! Maybe you have started writing a play, or you have a collection of poems hidden under the mattress, or maybe you just don’t remember the last time you have put pen to paper for your own writing. Now is the time! This class offers you the opportunity to develop the strengths you already have into skills you can continue to use, or, to write in forms you’ve never even considered.
Each day will be filled with writing and reading exercises designed to get you thinking and creating. Can you sit down to talk with your characters? How can you twist and tease language so that all of its sounds become your tools?
Takeaways:
By the end of the week, you'll be full of ideas, and have some drafts to keep you writing.
Who Should Register?
This course is geared toward creative, energetic, and open-minded writers who are at any level. Writing notebooks will be available, but feel free to bring your own. For writers age 13 - 18 ONLY.
Parents/guardians must also complete this permission form online before the start of the class.

Please wait to hear from our Scholarship committee before registering for the class, as scholarships cannot be applied retroactively. Thanks to the excellent literary citizenship of our donors, scholarships are available for all GrubStreet classes. To apply, click the gray "APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP" button. In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete your application at least one week before the start date of a class. Please await our scholarship committee's decision before registering for the class. We cannot hold spots in classes, so the sooner you apply, the better. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.

Zoom Participation:
Students are not required to turn their camera on, but are encouraged to participate any way they feel comfortable through functions such as the live chat, emoji reactions, and unmuting the microphone. Learn more about using Zoom here.

We ask that instructors enable closed captioning and send a transcript of the session after class. You can also enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting. If your instructor forgets to send the transcript, just send ’em an email!
