Class Description
If you've taken 6 Weeks 6 Essays before and loved the way it energized your work and urged you to draft new pieces, then perhaps it's time to come back for new prompts and new challenges. In this class you’ll have the option of writing six personal essays of 500 to 1,000 words or writing the opening pages of what will be a longer work. We’ll use advanced narrative techniques, including braided essays, aggressive structures, and even outside research and reporting. As with all 6 Weeks classes, you should be prepared to turn in an essay every week for discussion and to provide feedback on your classmates’ work every week. The class will also include brief discussions of published essays provided by the instructor. This course is geared toward intermediate and advanced students.

Zoom Participation:
In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.
Zoom Accessibility:
You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
