Class Description
Do you need inspiration in your writing life? Put yourself in a position to generate new work with this rapid-fire series of deadlines, readings, and feedback in an empowering, supportive community of peers. In this course for fiction writers, you'll use prompts and strict word-count limits to create six new story drafts—or the beginnings of drafts—and submit your work weekly for classmate feedback. We'll study a diverse array of published stories and we'll consider specific aspects of craft including--but not limited to--plot, character, setting, voice, and structure to get you thinking about new ways to handle your material as you write for weekly deadlines. At the end of our fun and empowering “boot camp,” you’ll take away six stories or story beginnings and a more refined understanding of craft to apply as you revise.
