Class Description

There are no guarantees in the publishing world, and the only strategy for any life-long writer is to develop a consistent writing habit. In this seminar we'll discuss strategies for maintaining your excitement about a project, overcoming blocks in revision, and organizing and scheduling submissions. By analyzing daily schedules and writing goals you'll be able to create an outline for writing consistently that's unique to your availability and writing style. Come prepared to discuss your own struggles with writing consistently, and your questions on balancing submissions and drafting new work. We'll share advice and resources, and you'll leave with an outline of your next six months of writing goals, a habit tracker, and resources for revision and publication.

Zoom Participation:

In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.

Zoom Accessibility:

You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
