Class Description

Do you have general questions about writing that you wish you could ask a more experienced writer, or are you keen to learn more about how other writers do it? Come talk to our instructors Jennifer Crystal and Yu-Mei Balasingamchow! Jennifer is the creator of GrubStreet's Writing to Heal Program, which will be open for applications from June. Yu-Mei manages the Mentorship Program and teaches fiction writing.
This Zoom event will be open to the floor for questions for the entire hour – ask us anything! Whether it's about finding inspiration, filling a blank page, sustaining a writing practice, building community with other writers, or anything else related to writing. You can also ask questions about the Mentorship Program, which will be offering one-on-one appointments with 12 instructors across different genres from mid-May to July.

This event is free and open to all. Please register to receive the Zoom link.

Format/Location

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. After registering, a yellow Resources tab will appear in this section containing a link to join class. Please note that you will need to be logged into view the Resources tab.

Zoom Participation:

In our experience, the intimate nature of a writing workshop benefits from on-camera participation. Students are of course welcome to turn their camera off whenever they need to, but it is a community norm for cameras to be on most of the time. You can learn more about using Zoom here.

Zoom Accessibility:

You can enable closed captioning at any time during the meeting by clicking the CC button at the bottom of the screen. If you'd like to access the transcript after class, please make sure to let your instructor ahead of time that you'd like a copy.
