About Garrard

Garrard Conley is the author of a memoir, Boy Erased (Riverhead/Penguin 2016). His work has been published or is forthcoming in TIME, CNN, Virginia Quarterly Review, The Rumpus, The Common, Lit Hub, The Madison Review, and others. He has received scholarships from the Bread Loaf and Sewanee Writers' Conferences and was a fellow at the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation Sozopol Seminars. He has taught writing at The American College of Sofia and Auburn University and has led workshops on memoir for Grub Street's "Muse & the Marketplace," the Ali Forney Center, and other organizations. He holds an M.A. in creative writing from Auburn University and an MFA (in progress) at UNC-Wilmington.
