About Jiayi
Jiayi Shao (any) is a YAWP intern at GrubStreet this summer. They are currently a student at Wellesley College, where they are pursuing a B.A. in Theatre Studies and Computer Science. Jiayi believes in the power of art as activism and is so excited to have the opportunity to support young adults in their creative writing journeys. They were recognized nationally for their work in theatre criticism and are an alumni of the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Their writings have been published by the Louisville Review, Polar Express Publishing and the International Human Rights Art Movement. In their free time, Jiayi can be found trying to catch as many productions in the greater Boston area and greeting stray cats from afar.
