About Taylor

Taylor Imel is an essayist, instructor and actor. Born and raised in rural Indiana, she writes about the propensities of rural living and the women in her family. Imel was nominated for Chicago Reader's Best Nonfiction Writer of 2024 and named a 2021 finalist for the Conger Beasley Jr. Award for Nonfiction. Known to travel for an essay, Imel has read new work to several audiences including San Francisco’s Lit Crawl Walking Tour. She lives with her two cats in Chicago and works as a copywriter for ADWEEK.
