Lauren Sarat has taught fiction and nonfiction writing at Brown University, University of Connecticut, Emerson College, Rhode Island College, and Rutgers University. She also worked in publishing as an assistant editor with Picador USA/St. Martin's Press and as a literary agent with Sobel Weber Associates and has published her own fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
