Agent: Kiele Raymond

Kiele Raymond (Agent)

Kiele Raymond

Kiele Raymond (Senior Agent) grew up reading in the beautiful seacoast area of New Hampshire before pursuing her studies in literature and anthropology with a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. from the University of Chicago. She launched her publishing career at Simon & Schuster in 2011 and joined Thompson Literary Agency in 2017 to seek out bold new voices in literary fiction and narrative nonfiction. Her clients include critically-acclaimed and award-winning writers such as Peace Adzo Medie, Nichole Perkins, Katie Barnes, Ari Braverman, Candice Wuehle, and Janice Obuchowski, and books on her list have been named New York Times 100 Notable Books, Time's 100 Must-Read Books, NPR's Best Books of the Year; selected for Reese's Book Club and GMA Buzz Picks; as well as longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the Women's Prize for Fiction, and the Diverse Book Awards. Kiele treats each project with great editorial care and is particularly interested in stories that examine our individual and cultural modes of sense-making. She also loves authoritative-yet-evasive narrators, anti-heroes bound to their institutions or ecosystems, and histories that remind us of the importance of subversive communities and local action.

Kiele Raymond's Availability During Manuscript Mart Week:

  • Tuesday, May 13: 1:00–4:00
  • Wednesday, May 14: 1:00–4:00
  • Thursday, May 15: 1:00–4:00
  • Friday, May 16: 1:00–4:00

Zoom Meetings with Kiele will be scheduled within these time periods (all EDT), but are subject to change. If Kiele must make a change to this schedule, we will arrange a mutually agreeable Zoom time outside of Manuscript Mart Week.
