What I'm Looking For
I am looking for literary and upmarket fiction that keeps me turning the pages! Beautiful prose is a plus, but I can't stress enough the importance of a strong plot. Fiction that has an incisive point of view on our current moment, however you might interpret that, is of particular interest, as are family sagas and campus novels. I am not the right agent for science fiction, but I love fiction with a speculative twist—if it has one foot (and a few toes) firmly planted in the real world, but with one unusual element, it might be a good fit for me. I am also looking for nonfiction, particularly memoir, that delves into the personal while keeping a broader view. Narrative nonfiction that blends memoir with elements of reportage is welcome! In all categories I am looking for a strong, fresh voice with a plotty through-line.
