Class Description

Editing and revising your own work can feel daunting, but it’s often the most important step in bringing your novel to its full potential. In this class, we’ll break the revision process into manageable steps and explore a variety of techniques to help you refine your manuscript, strengthen your narrative, and deepen your characters. You’ll learn strategies for identifying structural issues, tightening prose, clarifying voice, and resolving plot inconsistencies, so you can approach your manuscript with confidence and purpose.

Through discussion and guided exercises, you’ll develop a toolkit of practical revision strategies that work for your writing style and goals. We’ll also cover how to set achievable revision goals, track changes effectively, and maintain momentum on a long-term project.

This class is suitable for writers in any genre of fiction who have a complete or nearly complete manuscript and are looking to prepare it for eventual submission for publication. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with concrete steps, a clearer sense of your next revision moves, and resources to support you in completing a polished, submission-ready novel.
