Support Grub Street’s Emerging Writers Fellowship. Test your writing chops! Compete for a chance to have an event for your book at Porter Square Books: Boston Edition.

Porter Square Books is looking for contestants in the first ever Porter Square Books Write Off for Grub Street. 3-5 writers will respond to a series of timed prompts, questions, and challenges. The audience will vote for their favorite response and the one that gets the most votes wins that round. The two writers with the most points at the end of the opening rounds will move on to a head-to-head write off.

Porter Square Books: Boston Edition will host the winner for an event at some point in 2026. Also, 100% of ticket sales will be donated to Grub Street’s Emerging Writers Fellowship, as will 20% of in store sales during the event.
