About Jamila

Jamila (she/her) is an Administrative Assistant for Adult Programs at GrubStreet, where she first worked as a Barista in the Cafe. She graduated from Harvard College in 2023 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Film. During her time in college, she served as a staff writer and executive editor on the Harvard Crimson’s Arts board. She was also a founding member and Arts chair of Indigo Magazine, a Black literary arts magazine and on-campus creative community. Previously, she has interned on GBH’s weekly television program Basic Black, completed an internship with Warner Bros. Discovery’s DEI team, and assisted producers and casting directors at Stage 13, a content studio centering multidimensional stories and storytellers. In her free time, she enjoys catching movies at local cinemas, trying new coffee shops, working through her TBR pile, and going for long walks in the city.
