How do I attend Lit Up on September 29th?
Lit Up is being streamed online through a digital platform called YouTube Premiere. You will be able to watch the program live from any internet-connected electronic device when the video stream starts at 7:30pm.
How do I get to the YouTube Premiere to watch the program?
You will receive a direct link to the Lit Up YouTube Premiere around 3:30pm on Wednesday, 9/29 in an email from the GrubStreet staff. We recommend navigating to the YouTube page at least 15 minutes before the program starts. (If for some reason, you do not receive the YouTube link via email from the GrubStreet staff within an hour or two of the event, please contact Aamani at [email protected] or the development staff at 857-335-1098.)
How does YouTube work for an event like Lit Up?
YouTube will stream the Lit Up program similar to how a typical YouTube video plays, with the addition of a live chat feature that all attendees can participate in. To learn more about the format, check out this feature preview video from YouTube: https://youtu.be/43o_pBtrIYw.
How do I participate in the live chat during Lit Up?
To participate in the live chat during Lit Up, you will need to log into a YouTube or any Google-affiliated user account, such as GMail. After logging in, you can post any text or reactions as well as respond to others in the chat sidebar, which will scroll throughout the event. (If you do not have a YouTube or Google account, but would like to create one to participate in the chat at Lit Up, follow these instructions: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/161805.) Please note: you do not need a Google account to watch the Lit Up program.
How can I make a gift during Lit Up?
You can make a gift online at https://give.classy.org/2021LitUp at any time. The link will be posted to the live chat and shared during the event program. A gift of any amount will help increase equitable access to writing and publishing opportunities. Learn more about the programs you're supporting.
Will the Lit Up program have captions?
Yes, the whole Lit Up program will have open captions embedded in the video feed.
Can I support Lit Up, even if I can’t attend on September 29th?
Yes! You can make a gift online at https://give.classy.org/2021LitUp or mail a check to GrubStreet at any time to help increase equitable access to writing and publishing opportunities. You can also participate in Lit Up by bidding on the array of items posted at https://grubstreet.cbo.io anytime between September 21st and October 4th.
