After Class: What's Next?
The Student Experience | After Class: What Next?
As you're revising your pieces and writing your final critique letters, we hope you'll take a minute to review the opportunities that lie ahead of you at GrubStreet. We hope you'll decide to continue taking classes with us!
Before your final class, you will receive an email with suggestions for appropriate classes to take next term. We offer over a hundred classes each term, and the course schedule will be released roughly two months before classes begin. If you would like specific guidance as to what class you should take next, please don’t hesitate to call the GrubStreet office.
If you are in the final stages of completing a manuscript, or feel that you would benefit from one-on-one work with one of our instructors, we also recommend you read about our Manuscript Consultation program.
On your last day of class, you will be emailed a link to an online evaluation. We at Grub Street would greatly appreciate you taking the time to answer this sequence of questions -- your input not only helps our instructors improve their classes, it also helps us strengthen our offerings for future terms. The survey should take no more than 5 minutes of your time.
If you do not complete the survey when it is initially sent, you will be sent a reminder email. The surveys can be anonymous, and the results will be read by both the GrubStreet staff and your instructor. If you've had a particularly great experience, we'd love for you to write us a review on Yelp!
Grub Out Loud
At the end of each term, students who have participated in workshops will be invited to attend our Grub Out Loud. At this event, students who are nominated by Grub instructors will share excerpts of work they have produced over the past few months. Snacks and drinks will be served, and the event will be held at Grub Street headquarters on Boylston. Information on the event will be included in our weekly newsletter, so be sure to watch for it during the last month of the term.
