In this seminar, we'll explore "flash memoir" as represented in journals like Brevity. Through a combination of short readings and writing exercises we'll discuss the common threads of this genre: starting in action, a clear theme and sense of movement, emotional stakes and a 'twist'/surprise--all in the space of 1000 words or less.
