WDtS Mattapan: Overcoming Doubt: Writing Your Novel
Writing a novel is still considered one of the highest pursuits of literature. And writing a novel still frightens everyone. Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you,” but also captured the power of a novel when she also said, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
In this 90-minute drop-in class, we’ll pore over inspirational quotes, play with writing prompts, and explore the value of structure and tips, ultimately leaving students equipped with the tools to begin, or to carry on, with the untold story which needs to be brought out from the inside.
Families welcome. Coffee and snacks provided. Teens are welcome to attend with an older relative. We will provide simple activities to keep young children occupied.
