Level: For Everyone
Adult (18+)
12 seats max

This workshop will consist of an introduction to the show “The Pineapple Diaries,” followed by a screening of one monologue from the series. Directly after the screenings, we will discuss questions of identity, culture, and representation in television and film, and how these topics might be relevant in your own writing. We will follow up the discussion by choosing a theme and free-writing our own monologues, whether based on personal experience or our imagination.

In the final portion of the workshop, you will have an opportunity to exchange monologues with your peers and perform each other’s work (the performance element will be optional!). By exchanging and collaborating in this manner, we can think more critically about our writing and revision process, and how to take next steps. This course is for students interested in screenwriting, regardless of experience level.
