Striking Illumination: Erasure & Palimpsests
This craft workshop is designed for poets who are interested in erasure techniques. We'll cover the genre's history, cultural implications, and current praxis before engaging in generative work. As a group, we'll create erasures of celebrity public apologies before splitting into teams to create palimpsests of provided text. This is open to poets of all backgrounds and experience levels, but BIPOC poets are especially encouraged to sign up!
This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
