In this seminar, via discussion and writing exercises, we’ll inspire each other to take the baby steps or big leaps necessary to realize our writing ambitions for 2023, regardless of genre. We'll debunk common myths about being a writer; talk about common issues like fear of failure, writer's block, and rejection; discuss how to make time for your craft, build a career, define success, and develop habits, tools, skills and resources to make a commitment. You'll leave with a set of goals, an action plan with built-in accountability to make it all happen, and new connections with a community of fellow writers. We'll also reserve time for you to begin working on your goals, so come with an idea for an essay, story, novel, poem, screenplay or play you've always wanted to write. Please bring a notebook and a pen or writing device. For beginners or anyone looking to re-inspire themselves as writers.

Class Format

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
