Setting as Character
65.00
Setting as Character is a workshop designed to spark a creative approach to settings. Exercises will invite you to write about a room, a closet, an outdoor location, a town or city. We'll approach these settings as if they were a living, breathing, character imbuing it with backstory, relationships, motivations, and conflict. Readings will consist of excepts from the works of Branden Jacob Jenkins, Katori Hall, Eliana Pipes. This class will be taught from a playwriting perspective, but is well suited for short story writers, novelists, screenwriters, or playwrights looking to breathe life into places and things.
Class Format
This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
