Screenwriting for Film and Television - Remote!
490.00
In this class, we will explore various forms of screenwriting, including the short, the feature-length film, and TV shows. Students will practice linear, non-linear, and experimental visual story-telling techniques specific to the camera-eye. We will analyze scenes and scripts from a diverse array of groundbreaking movies and shows, such as Moonlight, Breaking Bad, Biutiful, Stutterer, Thunder Road, Luna Vieja, Swimming in Your Skin Again, Honey Boy, Atlantique, Brotherhood or Euphoria and work on crafting characters, building worlds, and establishing a cinematic language to effectively engage and communicate with viewers. Students will table-read their scripts during workshop and receive feedback from the instructor and the class. Writers of all backgrounds and levels are welcome. In this rich and collaborative environment, we will work to create a screenwriting community of learning and continued support, and deepen our understanding of the craft.
This class will be hosted using live Zoom meetings! You will be able to participate in class via Zoom videoconference from wherever you’re most comfortable. All you’ll need is a laptop or a phone! About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting via Zoom–no need to download anything or sign up for Zoom in advance! If you have questions about remote learning, please feel free to reach out to [email protected] for more information.
