Nonfiction Intensive: Writing Pregnancy, Abortion, Miscarriage, and Reproductive Justice

This seminar will be co-taught by Vanessa Mártir and Nora Corrigan. Please visit our Instructors page to read more about Vanessa and Nora.
In this co-taught intensive seminar, we will learn to tell stories that explore three topics that are often only whispered about: pregnancy, abortion, and miscarriage. In a sensitive and supportive environment, we will study published works of nonfiction writing on these topics, participate in small, intimate discussions, respond to writing prompts that will help us tell our own stories, and share our work in small breakout groups. This class welcomes anyone who feels ready to write about their personal experience(s) with pregnancy, abortion, and/or miscarriage. Essays need not be limited to just one of these topics; this class is designed to address the whole continuum through a reproductive justice lens.
Please note: This is a 2-part class that meets for two Saturdays, on December 2nd and December 9th.
