This course will introduce you to many powerful queer poets! We'll take a close look at various poems by queer writers who are doing dynamic and exciting things with form. Reading work by modern queer writers such as Jericho Brown, Rajiv Mohabir, J. Jennifer Espinosa, Benjamin Garcia, Kayleb Rae Candrili, Sarah Sgro, Xandria Phillips, and Rosie Stockton, we'll explore their use of structure and how we can channel their inspiration into our own work. After studying the poetics of these writers, there will be time to free write a poem and share it with the class.

Class Format

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
