Some stories are easy to reject. Manuscripts with typos, grammatical errors, syntax errors, incorrectly punctuated dialogue, or other glaring mistakes in the opening pages are always the first to get tossed. Do not let easily avoided mistakes or flat language turn your manuscript into a slush pile reject! In this class, you will learn how to unleash your internal editor, look at your writing from an objective stance, avoid common errors, and breathe life into every single sentence of your creative work. In addition to reviewing common grammar, syntax, and punctuation mistakes, we will discuss craft on the sentence level, complete some editing exercises, and workshop excerpts from your own writing. Please email the first five pages of a short story, essay, or book to This class will be helpful for writers of all levels.
