Do you find yourself interested in writing work that blends genres? Poems that may feel too long or essays that feel too short? In this bilingual generative workshop, we will discuss how blending genres like fantasy, non-fiction, and poetry can lead to powerful and innovative writing, especially for those experiencing writer's block.
This session will use genre-blending concepts of non-fiction, essays and poetry to get us writing! To get us going, we will read and discuss work from contemporary poets and essayists such as Black Quantum Futurism, FIYAH Lit Mag, Constelación Magazine, and Conjuring Worlds: An afrofuturistic textbook
This session is good for writers in need of a little inspiration and we will have generative writing prompts that can get a first draft going in no time! All class materials  will be provided in English and Spanish.
