Level: For Everyone
Adult (18+)

Action scenes can bring excitement and power to a story. How do you convey the excitement of an action scene using the written word?

In this three-hour workshop, students will read and watch several great action scenes from various works of fiction. Writers will learn how to build suspense, use parallel action, plot out a large-scale battle scene and craft sentences that move.

This workshop is perfect for screenwriters, novelists and short story writers working in any genre where action scenes are a part of the gig.

This class will be hosted using live Zoom meetings! You will be able to participate in class via Zoom videoconference from wherever you’re most comfortable. All you’ll need is a laptop or a phone! About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting via Zoom–no need to download anything or sign up for Zoom in advance! If you have questions about remote learning, please feel free to reach out to [email protected] for more information.
