Dialogue Writing Workshop: Providence
What makes amazing dialogue so special is that it not the typical language that we hear spoken on a daily basis. In order for scripted dialogue to be amazing and effective, it has to sound like everyday speech, but in fact be idealized. In this seminar, we will examine examples of good and bad dialogue, look at tips on the topic from authors and editors, and then try our hand at creating our own amazing, idealized dialogue. This is a cross-genre course, applicable to any kind of writing that contains dialogue, including nonfiction.
