In screenwriting, structure is everything. The rules and principles of three-act structure have been detailed and explored by hundreds of screenwriting gurus, critics, and story consultants. In this three-hour seminar, we will discuss the ins-and-outs of Hollywood structure and how it can be applied to any story. We will learn tricks on how to write a scene cinematically. We’ll discuss why it isn’t really three-acts (it’s at least four) and figure out how to use the structure to reinforce themes and articulate meaning. This class is perfect for novelists or non-fiction writers looking for a new way to see structure.
