In this class we’ll take apart 3 personal essays and examine their components to inform our writing, looking at the beginning; the end; the arc; the stakes; the situation and story; as well as structures used to deliver content, and how form and content can connect to increase the power of your words. Each student should bring an essay in progress of ten double-spaced pages or fewer to work on. They’ll leave with ideas for revision and the confidence to complete and submit their essay.

Class Format

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
