Whether you're looking to experiment, produce new works for a collection, or work on revisions, this workshop offers the opportunity to broaden and deepen your knowledge of poetry. Each week, you will study the craft and vision of contemporary poets and respond to a prompt given in-class. You will share two poems a week, one from the in-class writing exercise and something else you’ve revised at home. This class will allow you to break old habits, play with unconventional forms, and, most importantly, leave the course with both fresh and revised drafts of many poems. We'll be looking at work by Nicole Sealey, Malcolm Tariq, Eduardo C. Corral, Eloisa Amezcua, and Keith S. Wilson, among others.

Class Format

This class will take place using Zoom videoconferencing. About 15 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin, you'll receive an email from your instructor with a link to join the class meeting!
