Spring Advanced Workshop Application Deadline Extended
The application deadline for our Advanced Personal Essay Workshop with Xujun Eberlein and Advanced Poetry Workshop with Brionne Janae has been extended to next Monday, January 10th at 11:59pm (EST)!
Advanced Personal Essay Workshop
In this advanced course, experienced students working on narrative, long-form personal essays will receive support, guidance, and feedback. We'll discuss elements of craft at a high level; try new forms, techniques, voices, and structures; and develop strategies for revision.
By the end of the course, you’ll have submitted work to the class for critique 3 times. You will receive feedback from both your classmates and the instructor on each of your submissions; equally important, each week you are expected to read and critique three submissions from your fellow students. Apply here.
Advanced Poetry Workshop
This workshop is for advanced poets who want to develop new content and deepen their craft. We’ll explore the building blocks of poetry: language, the line, poetic forms, narrative and lyric elements, and what we need to do to build the life of the poem.
We'll see how what we learn manifests in our own work and that of accomplished mentor poets. We’ll write and revise ten poems and discuss making work public via readings and various types of publications. Apply here.
And don't forget! Applications are still open for the following workshops as well:
- Advanced Novel Workshop: Revision Focus with Henriette Lazaridis (Applications due Monday, February 14th)
- Next Level Nonfiction: Revise and Submit with Shuchi Saraswat (Applications due Monday, March 7th)
