(Seaport) Ghoul School: Writing Ghost Stories that Haunt w/Peter Medeiros

In this course, we will explore a very brief history of the ghost story, discuss its conventions (and how writers have resisted such conventions), and practice writing micro-scenes that might serve for the start of your own work within this esteemed genre. This course will be useful for writers of any genre, but especially writers of short horror fiction. Students will leave with a haunting first draft of their very own along with a better understanding of what makes a story timeless.

(Seaport) Playwriting with Complex Female Characters w/Serena Arora

In this workshop, we will pay homage to our favorite complex women written in plays by using them to inspire our female characters. Students will leave class with a human perspective on creative writing. We aren't writing for shock value but for the venture for radicalism and the possibility of depicting the complex women we are today while taking a peek at the past and bringing in the powerful women written before us.

(Zoom) Healing Through Words: A Poetry Workshop for Wellness w/Lysz Flo

In times of challenge and transformation, words have an extraordinary power to heal and bring solace. Join our nurturing and therapeutic poetry workshop designed to explore the profound connection between writing and wellness. In this class, we will embark on a journey of self-expression and healing through the art of poetry. Students will leave with a memoir style poem(s) that can be used for publication or a future collection.
