Join Craft on Draft: Subverting Expectations in Fiction on 5/12 (on Zoom!)

The latest Craft on Draft event is taking place virtually this month via Zoom and is about subverting expectations in fiction. It’s been said there are two types of pleasure in art: the pleasure of being surprised and the pleasure of getting what you expect. But how can we surprise readers in new ways while keeping in mind those tried and true conventions that keep them turning the pages? Join writers Mona Awad, Jon Clinch, and Vanessa Lillie as they discuss the art of subverting expectations in the novel on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00pm.

Created and managed by alumni of GrubStreet's Novel Incubator program, Craft on Draft is a reading series devoted to great fiction — and the mechanics behind it. Three authors read and discuss their work, plus that of one lucky audience member. So grab a drink, a page of your own writing, and come craft your own draft (virtually).

Check out the Craft on Draft website for more details.
