Grub Launches New Blog Series

Following conversations begun at the Muse and the Marketplace about diversity in publishing, we at Grub HQ are launching a new blog series. Every month for a year, a member of the Grub community will recommend a book they’ve loved by an author of color or another underrepresented author, beginning with Aminatta Forna’s The Hired Man on July 31st, recommended by Shuchi Saraswat. To find out why we think this series is important, check out our blog post: What Does an Author Look Like? On Race and Writing.

Now, we want to hear from you: What amazing book by an author of color are you reading? What marginalized writer do we need to know about? Tweet your recommendations to @GrubWriters with #WhatAnAuthorLooksLike and every month, we’ll choose an entry to receive a copy of the book we’re writing about. Send your book reviews to [email protected] for a chance to have it published either on the blog or in our weekly newsletter. We can't wait for your recommendations!
