Statement on Police Brutality and Racism

We want to acknowledge the acute pain of this moment for our community and the nation.

The brutal murders and systemic oppression of Black people must end. We are committed to dismantling systems of oppression and racism in our classrooms and offices, and to supporting Black writers by amplifying their stories and voices. We stand with our Black community members – staff, board, instructors, writers and partners – in fighting for a future in which it’s safe to live and thrive as a Black person in America. 

James Baldwin said that “ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.” To learn more about the fight for social justice, here are a few Boston-based nonprofits to support with donations and/or by getting involved:
